This week we drew some events in order from Ricitos de Oro (Goldilocks).
We have been practicing the words "I, a, to, the, go, see, it" and I am adding "we, will, and, can" next week.

This week, and in the weeks to come, we will be working on activities related to story elements (characters, setting, events in order), Spring, mastering some sight words and reading and writing CVC words (consonant, vowel, consonant)
We went for a spring walk around the school and found some beautiful flowers growing. We will be making tulip art in the days to come.

In Spanish, we have begun learning about the seasons and the weather. Each day, we describe the weather by using the following vocabulary.
Está soleado (it is sunny)
Está nublado (it is cloudy)
Está lloviendo (it is raining)
Está nevando (it is snowing)
Está ventoso (it is windy)
Hace frio (it is cold)
Hace calor (it is hot)

We will begin learning about 3-D shapes next week. Please have your child bring an object LABELLED WITH THEIR NAME that is representative of one of the shapes on the chart above. We will discussing these shapes, sorting them and graphing them.

Important information
Yearbook: Deadline to purchase a yearbook is Friday, April 28. The cost is $21. If you want to purchase additional books per student, please contact the office Dalhousie@cbe.ab.ca It is an optional purchase and can be paid for through your MyCBE account.
With the change in weather conditions, please ensure that your child is appropriately dressed for the weather and any changes in weather. Additionally, please send an extra change of clothes with your child to school to be kept in their backpack. This should include a top, a bottom, change of socks and underwear. Recess and lunch is a great opportunity for fun and play in the snow and slush, resulting in wet clothing. The office has a very limited supply of clothes. Thank you for helping us keeping your child happy and dry.
We are so excited to have parent volunteers back in the classrooms! Please ensure your police clearance has been correctly uploaded prior to signing up for one of the many volunteer opportunities. If you are unsure of your status please reach out to our lovely office team who will be more than happy to assist you with this process.
